My favorite part of traveling is usually the airports. I love airports. For so many reasons.
An airport really is a lot like a mall. But with a better energy. Everyone's going somewhere, so it's sort of a big, unusual day for most people. Just a good aura all around. And you can buy snacks pretty easily. Or get away with just sitting there waiting for your flight.
There aren't that many other situations in life where it's okay to just sit somewhere and you're not feeling anxious or waiting. At the doctor's, you're more like "when will this clown call me in?", at work it's like, "why the hell is time going so slow?" but at the airport it's more like, "already through security and that, this is alright, listening to music, looking at people, waiting a bit more til boarding." And if you need a boost for your fun, there's usually an airport bar somewhere.
Yesterday was my little brother's 7th birthday. He's in Poland right now already, so my gift for him is the $1350 I had to throw down to go there too. That should pay for his birthdays til atleast 10.
