Between the
Night Watch series, and Dostoevsky, a large load of what I read ends up being translated from Russian. I think I'd liked to have lived in Russia in a way. I dig what I've read about it, be it in a modern setting or over 100 years ago.
If you're interested in cool characters with the occasional epileptic moments then
The Idiot is a good book. It's public domain, read a good sequence
here.
That's bit sequence when he gets all these weird feelings and whatnot. Kind of like the other day when I dreamt about
Tin Cup even though I'd never seen it. And then I was at the gym, and I saw the beginning of a movie come on, and I thought, "If this is Tin Cup, then I'm going mental." And it was. Then I felt mental for a bit. Stuff like that happens.
For some reason, my hair starts turning more blonde in the summer. So much so that someone asked me the other day if I colored my hair. So I had to say no. Then I had to go and try to cut the blonde locks some so I don't look a fool.
I took this picture of my haircut and my eyes looked a ghostly pale blue, much like Prince Myshkin in The Idiot is described.
Part of me wants an iPad. Honestly. Or the Android driven equivalent when it comes out. Holding a book in your hands is sort of lame. When I lay in bed before sleep or in the mornings, those are the moments when I think an iPad would come in handy. But I gotta be able to run 2 apps at once. If I couldn't run Pandora on my phone whilst I used other apps, I'd be going mad at work (during my ultra-rare eye-rest breaks that I only take sparingly and only to abide by health policy of occasionally looking away from the monitor and stretching).
Reading is also less than average because it hurts my multitasking abilities. The exercise bike is the MAXIMUM you can do physically while reading. Unlike music and podcasts which are all but unlimited. I think with an iPad though I could elliptical. The small print on real books would make that difficult.
I did this
Perfect Abs DVD for years but then I switched to this
other DVD recently because I think I plateaud. I'm almost enjoying the pilates stuff a bit too much. Doesn't feel the least bit manly. But that's the price you pay sometimes
