  • We're Half Awake

Muscle memory is an extraordinary thing.  I work out a little bit, my old muscles come back a bit, my boss calls me "Muscles", I decide to workout out a little bit more, and now I'm back to the strength that let me win the Intramural Bench Press Contest a few years ago.

Not bad.  When I can't sporadically work-out every few years and get pumped up again, then I'll know I'm old . I'll also feel bad when I can't easily manhandle my little brother.

Theoretically, he'll get bigger and I'll get older so eventually the unstoppable force meets the immovable object and who knows what happens then.

But I'm still decently good at lifting middle-aged women.

I'm different than most people because I did put it in loads and loads and loads of weightlifting time back in the day.  Back when I looked sommat like this:

My goal is to never change my 17-year-old license picture.  It's funny, motivational, and a really good conversation piece when you get carded.  Your waitress might say something witty, and then you can show it to your lady-of-the-evening and then talk about it for a bit.  It's as good as having an exotic pet.

I rode my bike a bit this weekend in preparation for the 150 mile bike ride thing.  Child's play.  Riding a bike is for kids, that's why kids like to do it so much.

I thought of another good band name.  White Flight.  My friend had never heard of that word so I explained it to him, and per usual, I heard it like 3 more times in media within the week.  Phenomena like that are the times when I think my life is just one big dream.

I'm confused about old people.  When I go to work, I can at least think "Things will be pretty cool one day."  But the old people come in and do similar stuff all day, but they must only be thinking about how they will be dying soon.  I'd leave right away.  Maybe they have too much loyalty and try to scrap a few more pennies for their lousy kids.

Some people talk about National Health Care.  I can go either way on this.  My homeland of Poland has it and they seem alright.  I just hope they leave some spots with good doctors open for people with good insuracne.  Usually my argument is just choose your side.  I either want government control of everything or government control of nothing.  I'm a big Totalitarian guy as long as I'm the one doing the Totalitarianing.
