  • More Where That Came From

After a week of pain/disorientation/general "Why the hell did I do this to myself?"ism, I seem to be pretty recovered from the Marathon.

My toes are still on the verge of falling off.  I don't like inspecting them too closely because it makes me want to be sick.  But my legs are better (elliptisized today), and the brain flashes have stopped.

Due to my recent stock success (where the stock failure is sure to hit me soon), I've got a bit more expendable income, so I actually purchased the pictures they took of me at the race.  That, and it's a pretty big achievement compared to other less prestigious races.distances I've done, so might as well get a good record of it.

    Notice the Hook'Em Hands.

I wore my cool new Road ID wristband with my contact/medical information incase of collapse or anything.  Because as I found out, it's awkward going to the hospital with no ID or cell phone (and not remembering any numbers).

The more I'm away from the Marathon, the more I've had time to think about it.  That's actually the definition of time.

It was okay overall, but I don't know if I'll make it a habit.  If I'm going to do another Marathon, I think it will have to be a destination one.  My birthplace of Cracow hosts one, and my ideal goal would be to one day do the London Marathon.

To be honest, it's a great way to site see.  I saw a good bit of Houston I didn't know about or appreciate.  And usually you can't look around the town while running in the middle of the road.  And a good finisher's medal is its own souvenir.

So, I'll have to look into that for 2011.
