Today was sort of cool.
The last few times I went running at the park, I was dragging ass and really disappointed. But somehow I got my groove back and was running nice and fast again this afternoon. But wait, there's more.
I was into something like mile 4, going good and all, and then this guy riding a bike the opposite way had stopped in the middle of a wooden bridge and was looking at me. I was like, "Hmm, wonder what this is about?" Then I noticed he was pointing down, so I stopped.
Low and behold, a giant snake! It was awesome. It was something like 3 feet long and looked evil.
I was like, "Is it a bad one?" and the middle-aged bike rider dude goes "It's not a good one." Then he got this big stick and scared it off the trail.
Last time I saw a snake was something
like 2 years ago when I got out of a Unit Ops test during summer school.
I also saw a half eaten rabbit on the side of the trail today, too. Not to mention a dead opossum in the road the other day. Something is awry with the animal kingdom.
I've taken to writing haiku lately:
Half of a rabbitAnd then this giant scary snakeThe park is awesomeI can tell I'm getting old because I get too excited about the weather. I'll see it's sort of cool outside so I'm like, "Aww, winter time's coming again. Time to get out the old jacket and slippers." Disconcerting.
It's Good To Teach Kids To Play With Snakes....
