After learning that Pangaea was formed during the time that the earth was spinning as molten lava at the same rotational frequency as the moon, and that "orbital locking" provided a tide-like lift to the ever-solidying mass causing it to all form into one supercontinent, my mind was thirsty for more!
So I tackled alot more subjects today. Mostly stuff like theory of relativity, matter, mass, energy, speed of light, time, dimension, gravity, black hole, quantum mechanics, string theory, the big bang, the creation of the universe, the expanding universe, time travel, event horizon, quantum singularity, Newtonian space, the expanding universe, the uncertainty principle, etc.
The main thing I get out of it is that everything is relative. This is true for the general and special theories of relativity obviously, but also for more.
Like, compared to figuring out the very origins of the universe and the laws that govern it, designing a chemical plant seems like child's play. And seems really insignificant. In fact, when I research this stuff too much, everything seems a bit insignificant.
But, I do always stick to my philosophy of Absurdism. The moral there is that there's no way humans will ever figure out the meaning of life, but that doesn't mean it's meaningless. It just gives you the liberty to create your own meaning. Meaning is, therefore, relative to the individual.
Also, happiness is relative. You might think a guy with a good job, nice family, and good money must be that much happier than you; a guy with no job, no friends, or whatever. But he could be miserable. Then the loser in the situation might get a new videogame and catapault into happiness. Success is relative too. Yeah, you're head janitor and I'm lowest rank at my job. Well, I still win.
Life is relative.
That's my philosophy, it keeps my feet on the ground.
And a special shoutout to my old friend Katie, the artist formerly known as CompuKat57. I'll be reuniting with her next weekend it should seem.
