  • Safety First

Today, I had to give this safety moment at work.  It is basically so you start a meeting with a blurb about safety, since obviously the number one concern of a company is profitability making sure the employees go home safe.

I was going to talk about home safety and then talk about the time I banged my head in the kitchen and ended up with 5 stitches.  Then, I thought better of it, since usually people who bang their heads and end up with stitches are unfairly labeled as morons.

So, I ended up talking about pruning and tree trimming safety.  I even told the anecdote about the time I went outside and the lawn keeper guy here was on the top rung of a ladder wielding a chainsaw while shaving some hedge.

But, although I settled on trees, a lot of my good ideas ended up on the cutting room floor.

For instance, I strongly considered bee safety.

Tips: If attacked, cover your face and run.  Do not attempt to punch the bees or scare them away.  These tactics will only lead to angering the bees.

Next, I thought about chainsaw safety.  Decapitation city.  No good.

Atleast his right arm is okay.

Also, I found out a lot of deaths happen at home when kids get into drugs.

Smack-Heads come in all shapes and sizes.

    Oh, and a final thought.

Try not to carry around boxes during a lightning storm.  Recipe for disaster.
