  • We All Try Harder As The Days Run Out

Today was something like my ideal day.  Work wasn't interminable nor intolerable, and it didn't even have the "last work day of the week" tint to help it along.

I went grocery shopping and got some new soap and shampoos and it's pretty wild how happy these sort of simple things can make me.  Lever 2000 brings back these old memories.  Something about "for all your 2000 parts"?  I was under the impression that humans actually had 2000 parts because of those commercials.  An Irish guy cutting soap and also the back-towel-drying of Zestfully cleans are my most ingrained soap memories.

My mom is coming into Houston tomorrow (allegedly) to see me which is pretty cool.  Not alot of visitors into my lair.  Gotta make sure my Tony Romo bobblehead is nice and clean.

I can't believe I didn't even ask or know before joining this job that you could listen to your iPod.  Worth atleast $10K a year to me.  I've literally listened to over 100 albums over the past 14 months.  And Zeus knows how many hours of podcasts.  Fear not, they help me in my work, and I'm not joking.  Otherwise, listening to 5 different people around me have random conversations would be enough to make me self-destruct, maybe for real.

Old men wear their pants really high.  How can you look at yourself in the mirror and think, "Okay my belt is about 6 inches above my belly button now.  Good."?

Sometimes I think it would work better if people had set expiration dates.  Like, you're done at 70, no questions asked, no appeals, make the most of it.  Then maybe old people would spend more time trying to get in fun and worthwhile experiences instead of pulling up their pants so much.

For those keeping score at home, work desktop background this week is just pretty landscapes and stuff.  I pluck things from the featured pics over at wikipedia.

Some have the added bonus of keeping me subconsciously cool when it's hot outside.
