I know people in general are creatures of habit, but I'm a pretty extreme case. If you watched me Monday-Friday, it's pretty much like clockwork.
Here's an example of what I do when I first get to work.
Arrive at cubicle. Stick new gum packets in desk. Computer on. Email on. Check it. Grab water bottle. Make the walk to the water machine. Fill bottle. Make the walk to the bathroom. Make sure my hair hasn't been destroyed on the way to work. Finish the loop and arrive back at cubicle. Fill tea mug. Make tea. Sit and do things uninterrupted for atleast 15 minutes. If I'm bothered at all during this process, I want to self implode and the rest of my day is thrown off.
Similar type stuff throughout the day. And after work. But I love it.
I think that's why I like work life slightly better than college. In college they make you go to different classes at different times everyday. And you have to adjust your life for tests, reports due, labs, shit like that. It's hard to get in a routine. And, like they say, routine is the spice of life.
Right now it's 7:37 and the afternoon's been right on target. A little bit off timewise because I ran at the park after work instead of at the gym, which takes slightly longer. But other than that, watched my 3 DVR'd TV shows, took care of my webkinz, ate my dinner and cereal (cereal is ofttimes the main course of dinner). All in a day's work.
I don't know when I got this way, and I think it's been a bit more extreme lately, but I can't be late. I'm always early. I have been late ONCE this year to work. And I know it's only once because it was because of a lame ass traffic accident blocking the tollway back in August. If I was routinely late, I'd probably hyperventilate.
I had to go meet this woman at work today and I told her I'd come at 9:00 and I came exactly at nine and she's like "Wow, you're exactly on time." and I was like "Yeah, I'm always on time." I'm half-man, half-machine, all awesome. And neurotic to the bone, no doubt about it.
Another sign, when I mix in a random activity like playing soccer or flag football that differentiates from my usual exercise of running continuously for a long time (or stair climbing - my new favorite), my legs kill me for days. My groins been all a twitter lately and I walk around like Frankenstein. Or atleast some guy with polio.
Album of the Week: Furr by
Blitzen Trapper. The first 3 songs on this album are the best 3 opening songs I've heard on an album since
The Moon & Antarctica. Killer stuff.
Only a week. Yes a week. Until my epic, no holds barred, Spanish vacation. Coincidentally, it's perfectly timed with the completion of the first phase of our project at work, and before the kick-off of the second phase. Serendipity, I love you. Most impulsive and really pretty crazy (to the casual observer) thing I've ever done For The Win.
And because they're my 30 or so best friends...
Not sure what they're all doing hanging out in the upper right hand corner. Some sort of ant orgy ERRR party ERRR book club.

Have you named these new ants yet?
And how come when a guy is prompt and on-time he gets all this respect but when girls are like this, they are considered a square? Darn double standards!
