  • Walking On A Dream

    How can I explain?

Wow. I was just counting, and since I've started working last June and researching/listening to music alot, I've listened to 86 albums.  86!

The reason I was checking up on that is because of how much I love Oohs and Aahs by Say Hi.  It's definitely in the top 5 of the albums I've listened to in that span.  I know no one cares about what I say about these random indie bands that no one's ever heard of, but I'm going to write more about them anyway. Why? Same reason anybody does anything: because I can.

There's not a wasted sound on that whole album.  It's concise, to the point, to the hook, while changing up base genres and sounds.  It's inherently noise pop, but there are some really stellar guitar riffs mixed in.  And the singer doesn't have the kind of voice that makes every song sound the same.  So there you go.

We had this crawfish boil for work last night.  It was pretty cool.  And I can definitively say that I was not the most drunk and obnoxious, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

My favorite hobby is waking up at my friend Silva Surfer's house after a night of drinking.  He is good at cooking and a good guy all around.

I don't think I'll go into work today.  There's a law of diminishing returns I noticed yesterday afternoon when I wanted nothing more than to leave.  So, if I hit a day off then I can just go in tomorrow and be more refreshed, work for a while, and then go running.

To all you kids out there, you should take my career advice to heart.  You can be whatever you want to be.

These sort of things happen to me all the time where I'll learn a word or something and then I hear that word or reference that same day, when it's something I probably had never heard before.

Example:  My Filipino friend taught me that the Philipines are broken up into "provinces".  Then, I log onto spankwire later that day, and it's got some porn with 2 Filipino girls and it says what province they are from.  Weird.

Example:  I mention Duckman and my friend gets it confused with Howard the Duck.  I explain Howard the Duck to him and how Lea Thompson was in it.  Then, I'm listening to a podcast later and they mention Lea Thompson and Howard the Duck.  What are the odds on this? 1/10000 atleast.

These sort of things make me believe in fate that much more.   And on a similar note, 20 days til Spain.

And since everyone loves eye candy.  Running for the thrill of it, thrill of it.
