  • Stepping My Game Up

I did a 10K this morning.  (I didn't even know it was today until yesterday.  I kept thinking it was Sunday.)

I was extra motivated since people from work were doing it.  And somehow, even though there were literally 10,000+ people there, I saw people I knew on like six different occasions.  A guy from highschool recognized me.  Some people from college I haven't seen in years. Weird.

Oh, and I didn't disappoint myself.

Shattering all my previous 10K performances.  I'd buy that for a dollar.

I'd like to thank my parents, for giving me such good genes.  And Under Armour for their good running shoes.  And all the companies that I bought power bars and gels from.  And myself, for being such a good boy this year.

Oh, and here is some context.

I was at the grocery store the other day and I heard this song.  I didn't know who it was by, but I researched it based on lyrics and found out it was "These Dreams" by Heart.  Then I realized that Heart is a pretty crazy group with their long reign in music, and how they reinvented themselves to adjust to the changing music scene between the 1970's and 1980's, and that alot of songs from my childhood were by them.

So since then I've been obsessed with Heart.  Like, I wish I was born in 1950 so I had a chance with Nancy Wilson.  That's me, for ya.

Nancy Wilson is like my perfect woman.  She was hot in the 70's.

Hot in the 80's (as evident in the Heart video above), even with the big hair.  And hot in her late forties/early fifties (as evident below).

Ann, though, didn't age quite as nicely.  Aging well is a skill I need in a woman.  Put that on the chalkboard.

Oh yeah, my new computer came in.  It is incredible.

You know that saying, "The grass is always greener on the other side."  Well, sometimes, you go to the other side and realize the grass was even greener than you thought it was going to be.  This new computer is revolutionizing my life, one perfectly-streamed Heart video at a time.

Here's some SAT prep for the youngsters.

That's what we call an "analogy" type question.  You learned something today.
