The Daily News
In general, I don't care about current events. What happens, happens. Why should I need to know about it? I don't read newspapers, I don't watch the news on TV, I don't go to news websites. But that doesn't mean I don't have opinions.
The very most I do is occasionally click on GoogleNews and skim the headlines. This is just to make sure that no continent has blown up, or maybe to find a cool story about a theme park accident. But usually, the title is enough of the story for me to make my mind up. For instance:
Government Closes In On Deal for Automakers - Automakers should close in on a deal with me instead. Something like, you give me a new car for way less than MSRP, and I give you my old car and reasonable monthly payments.
Military Jet Crashes in San Diego Neighborhood = Nice to know my taxdollars are going towards inept pilots flying aimlessly around California.
Malaria Vaccine Effective in Latest Trials - Finally. My malaria's really been acting up lately. Now when will they get around to curing polio. And the black plague.
Policy Wonks Urge US Cybersecurity Overhaul = The use of the word "wonk" almost made me want to click this story. Almost.
'Twilight': What does Catherine Hardwicke's exit bode for 'New Moon'? - I've tried my hardest to avoid looking into this book/movie series. And I'm still successful.
Bigger US role battling genocide? - Is this a rhetorical question? Is my question asking whether the question is a rhetorical question a rhetorical question?
Tribune Files Bankruptcy One Year After Zell Bailout (Update3) - I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't read the news.
That oughta keep me up to date through '08.

ah twilight. all you need to know is that it gave millions of homely white girls hope that somewhere out there, exists a perfectly good, strong, polite, gentle, pale, beautiful, well dressed but thoroughly MANLY man [who on the downside happens to have a thing for sucking their blood] just WAITING to be found and declared as their soulmate.
Now, Harry Potter is another story.
