  • How A Resurrection Really Feels

I do not plan on watching any election coverage.  There are a few reasons.
    1) I am too busy watching TrueBlood.
    2) I don't really care.

Bottom line: will either candidate's election really affect me? I'll answer for you: No.  A few decimal points on taxes maybe.  And that's basically it.

Note: I really don't care about drilling for oil or the environment or wars.  I paid less than 25 bones to fill up the tank today, and that was pretty cool, but not life changing.  I won't be alive long enough to suffer from global warming, and my theoretical kids can deal with it themselves.  And I'm not in the army, and anyone who joined did on their own volition knowing the possible consequence.  I'd rather not waste money on funding troops, but no one accepts my plans of nuking other countries into oblivion.

In case you didn't figure it out from the context clues, I did not vote.  There are a few reasons.
    1) I registered in Austin.  I would have considered voting there but I was told this was "voting fraud."
    2) I was too lazy and misinformed to find out how to change where I was registered.  Google is too hard to search and find these sites.
    3) I don't want to go anywhere to vote because that would be a hassle and boring.  Maybe they should offer a tax deduction in exchange for voting.  Or gift certificates to local restaurants.
    4) They don't choose on a popular vote.  Believe it or not, if your state voted one way, and you voted the other, your vote didn't count.  Threaten me to Vote Or Die all you want.  The electoral college is outdated and should be eliminated.  Do this and I swear I will vote.
    5) I also swear to vote if they allow non-US born citizens to run for president.  Because I like to keep my options open.

We had a memorial today and it was good to offer some closure.  I don't consider it "closure" by any means in that sense of the world, but it is a positive development.  We gotta stay positive.

Album of the Week: Everything by Drive-By Truckers.  I guess I have some SouthEast Texas influence in me after all.  But mind you, it's not country. It's Southern Rock.

I just found out that the Drive-By Truckers have started touring with another of my favorite acts, The Hold Steady.  Too bad they are not coming to Texas.  I mean, the closest they come is Tennessee.  And they even do California.  That feels less than average.

Oh, and IF I would have voted, I would have marked-up my ballot to pick the Obama-Palin Super Ticket.  And then it would have been thrown out.  So by not voting I really just cut out the middle man.
