It's been a couple of days and I'm still a little haunted by
The Dark Knight.
I wouldn't say it deserves the #1 spot on imdb.com it has catapaulted too, but it's damn good faire. Better than the first for sure. And for one blatantly obvious reason.
Maybe Neil Young and Kurt Cobain's suicide note was right, it's better to burn out than to fade away.
And for Heath Ledger, this is some Magnum Opus. I can't compare it to any other performance. It makes Jack Nicholson's brilliant Joker look like child's play. It overshadows Hannibal Lecter. Basically, it's iconic. And quite a way to go out.
Maybe that's what I need to end my life. A blaze of glory. Not necessarily an overdose in an apartment, but an elevator accident has always seemed kinda cool. But only if I can do something in my life on par with Ledger's Joker. Which I highly doubt.
I'll definitely be seeing Dark Knight again, and hopefully soon. I saw it in IMAX, which is cool, but sort of a chore. You have to actively move around to see things, so I'm sure there's something I've missed. Not to mention it's impossible to look away from Joker when he's on screen.
I had to save a seat at the IMAX for almost 30 minutes for my 2 late friends. Talk about a chore. I just put on my most intimidating aura and had at it.
Tomorrow is a fasting day to make up for all my caloric improprieties this weekend and lack of exercising. And there are millions of benefits which I've chronicled before. Not least of which is testing my iron will.
Let's put a smile on that face.
