  • GOAL!

Today is a day worthy of documentation because of my performance with my after-work social soccer team.

I scored a goal.  That's right.  A real live actual goal.  Despite my lack of skill or experience, I successfully kicked the ball through the net resulting in a point for my team.  Those are the rules.

I'd like to thank my super-endurance for helping me run around aimlessly all game without tiring.  It was a fantastic moment.

It wasn't as great of an accomplishment as my 4 run game in IM softball, but I gotta tell you, it felt pretty good doing the airplane celebration for the first time.

Not to mention I now get to join the small fraternity of people at work who have scored goals at our after work social soccer games.

And, I have some more awesome reviews to share with the world.

    Coldplay - Viva La Vida:
To be honest, I didn't want to like this album.  First of all, it has a lot of hype, and I am anti-stuff that is popular.  Also, as purported in 40 Year Old Virgin, liking Coldplay means your gay (not that there's anything wrong with that).  So when I first started listening, I thought "Eh, this sucks."  But after listening like 3-4 times through, I love this album.  Sure it's overproduced.  By that I mean you can't replicate this music in your garage.  You need computers and synthesizers and the like.  And sure the lyrics are a bit cheesy at times.  But they're digestible. And all in all, this music is just enjoyable.  Very much so.
    Grade: A
    Standout Track: Strawberry Swing

Hot Chip - Made In The Dark:
I usually don't like techno/dance music.  Because it's usually just one sentence repeated over and over in a catchy way.  But, although this album does that, it does it so damn well.
    Grade: A-
Standout Track: Ready For The Floor

British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?
Although I found most of the tracks to be largely forgettable, there is quality throughout.  I found it to be a solid effort.
    Grade: B
    Standout Track: All In It
