  • Revenge of the Sith

The other day when I saw the tooth brushing culprit, it was on the first floor (not my floor) so I wasn't as enraged as I might have been.

But yesterday, I go to the bathroom on MY floor, and what do I see? Another member of the brushing teeth in the men's room cult gleefully brushing away like there's nothing wrong.  My mind was almost liquified by my silent rage.

The little things make me happy, and it's the little things that piss me off.

Like I had to mail in a check to some people the other day and it was no big deal, but they said check only. I didn't give it a second thought.  Until about 5 hours later when I thought "Hey, on a dollar bill it says 'FOR ALL DEBTS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE'" So how dare someone say they don't accept cash?  Shouldn't that be breaking the law?

Answer: Yes it should be.  That one little situation made me far more perturbed than it should have.

But then the craziest thing happened the other day.  For some reason, the automated system wouldn't let me activate my new credit card, so I had to call in and talk to someone.  My hatred for calling in and talking to someone is well documented, so I was already on edge.  And then to verify my identity, they had to ask like 45 stupid questions.  And then they put me on hold.

So I was all kinda pissed off sideways about being put on hold and having to go through this gauntlet of silliness, and then I hear the on-hold music.  "Don't worry be happy."

You have got to be kidding me.  Whoever thought of putting that song as the hold music is a genius.  You have people calling into the credit card company, probably millions of dollars in debt, all suicidal and bent out of shape, but then they're put on hold and they hear "Don't worry be happy." There is no way you can listen to that song and not automatically be blissfully euphoric.  Excellent marketing move.

Bobby McFerrin has saved countless lives with that song.
