  • A Helping Hand

There was a stack or so of books that I couldn't sell back and had no value online.

    So...

    helpingstack

You can't say I'm not charitable.  I did write this song back in November of 2005 after all...

    HELP THE HOMELESS
    by Michael Tworzydlo

The old man sits on the park bench
His beard is long and gray
He sits and stares at the sun
    He hasn't eaten all day
He goes into a coughing fit
    He can barely breathe
The cops tell him he better move
But he's too tired to leave
The kids all call him names
    Like fleabag or stinky poo
    You should always remember
    It could easily be you!

    CHORUS
    So you gotta...
    Help the homeless!
    Give them all your cash!
    Why should you be rich
While they roll around in trash?
    You gotta...
    Help the homeless!
Give them all the good stuff you got
    Otherwise you'll definitely
End up in Hell to rot

The homeless man holds up a sign
    Asking for some work
He used to have a good job
But then his boss was a jerk
Got fired for drinking on the job
    What was the big fuss?
It's not like he was a heart surgeon
    He just drove a bus
Now he sits and counts his change
Only needs a bit more for some smokes
Grabs a crutch, puts on an eyepatch
Time to con a few more folks

    CHORUS

The poor man pushes his shopping cart
    It holds all his possessions
Sits and harasses all the pretty girls
While you work your high paid professions
The poor man takes a bath in the park fountain
Little children look on in fear
As the homeless man fights his pubic lice
And flicks ticks off of his rear
The homeless man collects some cans
Maybe now he won't be so broke
He wonders why he's been so cursed
It's not his fault he's addicted to coke

    CHORUS x 2

P.S. - The stack was gone within 2 hours.
