A Positive Spin
I've been extremely busy today. Like a bee and/or beaver. Or a beaver-bee hybrid. Generally, that would mean I come and wax philosophical about all the things that pissed me off or annoyed me throughout the day.
But au contraire. Flip mode. I've been concentrating too much on the negative lately. The pony tails, the morons, Communism. So, in the interest of equal time for the positive, I'd like to lay out just a few things that I like; things that make me happy.
1) Ear buds. I'm a huge fan of ear buds. I have 5 pairs for different occasions and uses. My favorites are my sweet as skullcandy pair which have very good insulation for blocking out the squawking losers... I mean, my fellow students at the computer lab. Then, I have some pairs specially for varying levels of exercise, from elliptical, to running. All have their own attributes, and when hooked up with my all powerful iPod, all make me happy.
2) T-Shirts. I love T-shirts. I pride myself on wearing T-shirts I know no one else has. And I love wearing really comfortable shirts. My favorite brand of stuff is Junkfood brand. They have really cool designs, and are made from only the finest, softest cotton. They are a bit on the expensive side, but that's why I wait till I get a special coupon in my e-mail before I stock up. Here's just an example of a couple of shirts of their's I have.
On a related note. I was wearing my Evel Knievel one the other day, and this slap at the restaurant was like, "I was looking at the back of your shirt, and that's the coolest way to spell Evel I've ever seen." And I was like, "... Yeah, that's how he spells his name." That guy was stupid, I mean, very friendly and helpful!
3) Ceiling fans. My main qualm with my dream of going back and living in the Old West, is that they didn't have any ceiling fans. It helps me in so many ways. It helps keep the room cooler, which is a huge plus. But also, it circulates the air. Dead air has a tendency of giving me headaches. Plus, the subtle whirring sound helps get me right to sleep. I hope my apartment I'm going to lock down Saturday has some Grade A fans.
4) This Guy At The Laundromat. I've been sitting and racking my brain trying to think of an example of a kind of person I like, since I rag on people so much. But, just this past Saturday, I was trying to use the change machine at the laundromat to get quarters. It takes 1's or 5's, and I need around 5 dollars worth of quarters to get the job done. So I'm sitting there, trying to force in my 5, but the son of a bitch machine won't take it. So I'm all contorting and flattening the bill for like 7 minutes, then this guy is like, "Do you need a flat bill?" and I'm like, "Yeah, that would be cool." So I traded him my 5 for some crisp 1s. That guy was pretty cool.
Honorable Mention: The Speed Queen
Speaking of the laundry, The Speed Queen is a nice and fast laundry machine, and helps make my laundry day that much more enjoyable.
Now, wasn't that refreshing?
