I'm going to preface this by declaring that I have never fallen asleep in school in my life. I just would not feel comfortable sleeping in that setting. I have to be fully awake and aware to make sure none of my enemies try to attack me.
Once in 9th grade, we were watching a movie in health, and the teacher was like "You can watch this or just go to sleep, I don't care." So, I was like, "Okay, I'm going to try to go to sleep." Couldn't do it. It was impossible.
Now, I've certainly seen people fall asleep in class. Put their head down on a desk and they're out.
However, I have never seen someone sleeping quite like this. This guy in class was constantly fading in/out of sleep while sitting there. This went on for like 30 minutes, and I think I was the only one who noticed, because it was the most hilarious thing ever.

It was an incredible phenomenon and I am glad I had the skills to document it. And almost worth all the hoops I had to jump through and bootlegging ERRR completely legal things I had to do to be able to share it with the world.
HA! I just graduated from Technical college, where it was mostly guys (Nascar tech) and I was the only girl in the class. Our class started at 6:30 in the AM and we had one phase with an instructor that looked like an x-marine. HUGE polish guy! He was teaching Manual transmissions and he had this huge rod that he would smack down on the table right next to your head if you would fall asleep and it was LOUD! it got SO annoying. So one morning my buddy stole it while our instructor was outside and (Luckily I have always hung around with the boys and had a good sense of humor) when he came in and couldn't find it he looks at me and says "Lauren, pull it out, wipe it off and give it back!" with out missing a beat I looked right at him and said "Mr.Z can I at least go in the bathroom and finish first?!" HA HA HA! Good times, good times...
Ok that is funny. I have to admit I have dozed off before. Not on purpose mind you, but there have been a few time when the eyes just wouldn't stay open. It is usually for just a few seconds though. A guy got busted sleeping in one of my classes yesterday, but he was just sleeping. Full out sleeping.
*blushes* I've totally done the head nodding thing in an attempt to stay awake. I wish I still had that inability to sleep in class. But senior year completely ruined me. I can basically sleep any where now.
