Sunday, Not So Bloody Sunday
It's weird. Running 3 miles now seems like a walk in the cake. We did 6 today which was fun. The weather was top-notch.
I've been listening to Jim Rome Show podcasts lately instead of music. I guess it just depends on what my mood is. The Austin Marathon thing was today. I hope to be participating in that this time next year.
I have been reading RunnersWorld.com alot lately. It's a wealth of information. I learned about how awesome black beans are for you. I always liked black beans, but never really considered buying them routinely. Now I can make incredible blackbean/tuna concoctions. Also, they say oranges are great for runners. I've loved mandarin oranges with a passion for years, and today I found some sweetened with splenda. What luck. That whole article is here.
I feel pretty good today. It's like the mist finally let the sun through. I just realize I have a lot of potential, and good things will happen to me. It's strange though, because historically Sunday night is the most depressing night. Oh well, I can't complain about having nothing to complain about.
It's tough to control my urge to speak in a New Zealand accent. I can't help it after all the Conchords I've been watching and listening to. I'm pretty proud of my ability to speak in a British/Australian accent.
I first started working on it about 16 years ago when I watched this awesome yet short-lived sci-fi show called The Tomorrow People on Nickelodeon. It was incredible. I should look into finding it on DVD. But anyway, there were some British people on there so I started doing the accent.
Maybe when I move and start my new job, I'll use the accent and tell people I'm from New Zealand. No one will be the wiser hopefully. And I will seem cooler and smarter.
If they remember from my interview that I didn't have a New Zealand accent, I'll come up with some excuse, like I was trying to use an American accent for a while but then I figured out I had to be myself. A New Zealander.
