  • Give Me Back My Son!

We are actually watching a movie in my history class now.  This is the first time I can remember watching a movie in class since highschool.

It is this piece of crap movie called 1918 that no one has ever seen or heard of.

However, it has some pretty great redeeming qualities.

I was initially optimistic when the credits showed Matthew Broderick.  Somehow he appears in every historical movie.  Well, atleast this crap movie and Glory.

When we saw him on the opening credits, me and my buddy were like, "Yes! Ferris Bueller!"

Then when he actually appeared on screen, the whole class of 200 or so started clapping.  He started telling cool stories about going to A&M and knocking up some girl, which helped the class uproar in laughter.

Then, there was this old chick at one point who kept yelling "Give me back my son!"  This was awesome because Mel Gibson said that in the trailer for Ransom about 10 years or so ago, and it has been an oft-repeated sound clip on the Jim Rome Show.

Jim, will say something like "What is it that you want?" "GIVE ME BACK MY SON!" "I don't have your son." "GIVE ME BACK MY SON!"

So it was cool seeing the classic phrase in that lame ass movie.

I officially registered for the 10K today so there is no turning back.  Capitol 10K, March 30, be there or be square.

I know I'll be ready. Doing a 5 mile run at 7:30 in the AM tomorrow to train.

Then after that, I'll set my sights on a half-marathon.  Maybe next August or something?

    Life is but a dream.
