Give Me A Hand(Writing Lesson)
So I'm taking this History class online, and I have to go take one of the tests at some testing center.
For those of you not in the know, I have horrible handwriting. It's about what how'd you'd expect a stroked-out 5 year old to write.
My handwriting has always sucked, and most people can't read it. Sometimes it even takes me a while to decode.
Luckily, as a ChemE, most of my writing is just numbers and equations, so it hasn't totally cost me at school. All of my reports are typed, and my typing is incredible. The stuff of legends.
So I email the testing center to inquire whether or not my test (which includes an essay) is on a computer or handwritten. I also told them that I was concerned because my handwriting is terrible.
They responded as follows:Michael,
The HIS 315K course you are taking through University Extension (UEX)
has paper exams that do not require the use of a computer. If you
have a disability that entitles you to special accommodations, UEX
will need to have those on file before you sit for the exam.Well, gee thanks. Maybe I should tell them that I stuck my hand in a garbage disposal so I can't use a pencil. It will take me 3 times longer to try to work this test if I have to concentrate on the whole making nice neat letters thing.
Back in the day, when I had the reputation of being super smart, the teachers would just assume I got the answer right and not worry about trying to read my crap. Alas, I just don't carry that much weight anymore.
In other news, I have drafted a new "Rex in the City". I'll scan it when school's open again.
If all y'all wanna check out some past ones (noting I haven't done one in over a year), I put them in this album thingy.
