  • Train Me

My love of Dallas Cowboys football goes back to about 4th grade.  This was the year that I got a Sega Genesis.

My stepdad recomended that I pickup a copy of Joe Montana '94 with it.  The problem was, I didn't know the rules of football.

However, I did pickup said game.  And in no time, I was a sage in the art of football.  This was when I first fell in love with the game, and I haven't stopped playing football videogames since.

Games back then didn't have features such as saving your stats season to season, so I had notebooks full of statistics that I would write down myself after every game and then tabulate at the end of the season.

It was right around this time that Dallas was kicking ass and taking names.  My stepdad was a fan of them, and he had recorded alot of their playoff games from '92 and '93 when they won the Superbowl.  I spent many weekends watching and rewatching these games.

Then, in '95 the Cowboys kicked ass more.  By this time I was a full on football afficionado including having 2 Cowboys jerseys and a couple of posters.

Flash forward about 13 years and I'm fixing to go see Cowboys training camp in San Antonio.  Hooray.

I might try to get my way onto the field to try out. We'll see.

The Bad News: I found out I have a test the same night I was supposed to go see Ween. Alas, I was forced to sell my tickets.

    Oh well.  Ce la vie.
