  • 20th Anniversary

As most everyone knows, July 4th represents Independence Day for America.
But, more importantly, it also represents the day me and my mom first came to America.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of this momentous event.

I was too young to remember, but I always think about us thinking:
"Damn, America is awesome.  They pop fireworks and celebrate every night.  This beats communism anyday."

I'm actually not the biggest fan of this holiday.  It is sort of a rip-off. I don't want a day off in the middle of the week.  Not to mention that the gym is closed and so is the computer lab, so I can't work out or work efficiently.

Last year, July 4th screwed me out of my usual 3 day weekends.

If I were king, every holiday would be celebrated on a Monday.  That way everyone can enjoy it.

Twenty years.  That's a long time.

20 years for us Michael!!! That's all thanks to your awesome Dad, whose incredible brain landed him a job at UT, a year prior to our arrival.
We should be sending him Thank You cards and flowers for the rest of our lives!!!
