Newspaper Headlines are Stupid
Some people are stupid. Even people who work for newspapers. Take this headline for instance.
Bill Passed In Response to VaTech Melee
Last I checked, there was no melee at Virginia Tech. A melee is a violent free-for-all. This includes a large fight between many people.
I think the word they were looking for is massacre. I don't consider one guy shooting people with no one fighting back a melee.
Why are these lame journalism majors hired for a newspaper when I'm a ChemE major and stuck writing my stuff on xanga?
On a positive note...
Things that I think are Cool:
Big Machinery - There is tons of construction going on in West Campus in Austin where I live. It's fun looking at the all the cranes and giant machines. One time I was distracted by a giant drill and I walked into a pole. Machinery is cool.
Helicopters - I am always happy when I hear a helicopter in the sky. Especially when it's a police helicopter looking for some fugitive. Helicopters are cool.
Update: They have since changed the title of the article away from anything pertaning to a melee. I guess all the negative attention they got from me opened their eyes. Hopefully they fired the person who wrote it, before they write any more headlines about the Virginia Tech brawl or soiree.
