I'm on a Sports Radio
I listen to "The Third Shift On Fox" every night. It is a sports radio show that is on from 1AM-5AM central time.
They take "text hits" and I often send them in. I get them read quite often too.
Today, one of them was hailed "the best text hit of all time" by the guy who runs the radio board.
They were talking about hockey inexplicably, and I wrote:
Regarding the hockey talk, I think I speak for all of America when I say "huh?"
That's when the producer said "That's the best text hit of all time."
Another one made Jorge Sedano, the host, crack up. They were talking about athletes coming out as being gay and saying that an NFL player couldn't get away with it in this day in age.
I said, "I think getting a man's initials tattoo'd on your ankle is the closest thing to coming out without actually saying it."
This is in reference to one UT alum Chris Simms, who has his best friends initials on his ankle.
Damn, I'm smooth.
Oh, plus I was only 5 points away on my Super Bowl prediction. So I got the knowledge and the humour. I guess listening to literally 6+ hours of sports radio a day pays off eventually.
