I haven't really cared and/or watched any UT football games this year.  There are a few reasons for this:

    A) Bandwagon fans.  I've been loving UT football for a long time, ever since my stepdad got me into it long ago.  One of my greatest life moments was being at the game and watching Ricky bust the 60-something yard TD versus A&M for the NCAA rushing record.

My freshman year, we kinda sucked.  We had Chance Mock-me-because-I-suck at QB.  This was before Andres and I convinced Mack Brown to put in Vince.  He insisted on playing Chance some though so we lost 3 games and it was sad hat.

Sophomore year we got better, only losing to OU, and then Vince went from human to deity in the Rose Bowl, bringing UT to national prominence.

My junior year was, of course, the Championship year.  A culmination to the effort, and a special thing for those of us who put in the time and watched them suck some before.

But alas, now there was a new phalanx of UT fans.  Now when you go anywhere, you see burnt orange.

In my hillbilly hometown, I would barely ever see people sporting UT gear when I grew up.  Most were rednecks and thus supported the Aggies.  But, now you'll see it everywhere.

    Bandwagon bastards.

And since my goal is to stay one step ahead of cool, I tend to turn my back on things once the bandwagon gets on.

Damn you bandwagoners.  It's easy to be a fan when everythings going good, but stand there like a dumbass when UT loses versus Arkansas the first game of your freshman year and tell me how you like it.

    B) I don't feel like starting over.  Like I said, I put in my time with a team and they won the championship.  I don't wanna start over with a new team.  I've seen the top of the mountain.  I know, that's kinda dumb I guess, but so be it.  I'll support my alma mater more when the bandwagoners go back to their trailers and being a UT fan becomes more exclusive again.

    C) I'm old. I am not really into the college scene. I'm a pseudo professional, and me going to school I take more as a necessity.  I don't have the desire to pound beers every weekend and listen to a bunch of soon-to-be Liberal Arts dropouts hoot and holler.

Note to College Girls:  Maybe all the beer you drink could be the cause of your massive beer belly.  I don't know, just a hunch.

So anyway, I'm not overly jilted about UT losing to K aka Gay-State.

The only problem I have is as follows:

I listen to SportsRadio literally around 6 or more hours a day.  Now I'll have to hear about UT blowing a golden opportunity to get back in the national championship picture.

So I DON'T got that going for me... which ISN'T nice.

Oh wait, there's good news this time...

La-La Land.  January 5-10.  Be there, or like, be everyone that isn't me or Jeffrey and the people that live in LA.  Got it?
