  • The Past Passed

I reminisce as much as the next guy.  Probably even more.

I like to lay and think back.  I think about the days that seem like yesterday, but were 15 years ago.  I look back to when I was a kid and how everything seemed so... easy.

Riding around the neighborhood, building rock forts, playing games, just being a kid.  The freedom of summer.  Just remember how carefree it was.  Not a single thing to worry about.  Nothing will ever be like that again.  Ever.

Sometimes it pisses me off, you know.  The whole "youth is wasted on the young" thing.  Maybe I didn't appreciate it like I should have then.  Maybe it's impossible to.

But I appreciate it now, and there's no reason to be sad or remorseful about childhood being gone.

I get a certain satisfaction knowing that at one place, and at one time, I was a kid.  And I was happy.

I'd like to think that youth is 'celebrated' on the young

Nice blog, sir. This is my first year as a teen, am I still a kid? Yah, you're correct being a kid is so easy, parents provide us with everything. all we got to do is enjoy, play around the only hard part is school. Are you already working or still studying? Iam so early in the computer, it's 6:25 AM here. I have a fever and I miss our fieldtrip. waaaa. Bye. BTW, you can be like again, doi it once in a while. hahahaha

Honestly, I think a child that's aware of his own freedom or innocence would be a sad child. But it's near impossible to be conscience of what you have at that age. I mean, lying down in the back seat of your parents car and knowing that you can just relax your mind and sleep...how could you know (at that age) that one day you'd wish and pray like hell that you were back there, in that very back seat, just being able to lay your head down on that same unconfortable armrest forget that the world exists for a little while...

But I digress. And to the previous commenter, it is a bit early to be in the computer. I would recommend getting out of the computer immediately!

Sorry, I saw the opportunity and knew I had to take advantage of it...

This post and the above comment made me remember how wonderful oreos used to taste. It was essential to separate the halves and eat the filling first. Somewhere along the line I stopped doing that, and now, even if I did, the filling doesn't taste as wonderful as I remember. I miss it.
